Opening of "A different Landscape" in Chongqing

This coming Friday, April 18 2025 at 4:00pm, my Solo exhibition "A different Landscape" will open at Chaotianmen International Art Center. The art center is located on the top two floors of Chongqing's tallest building, the famous Raffles City.

Above on the 73rd floor, about 350m above ground, especially for this exhibition, I painted a new "Mini Monumental Gravity" called "Chaotianmen". 

I thoroughly enjoyed painting this monumental work of art with sweeping views of the city, its two rivers, and the skyline. Even the public viewing platform is more than 20 stories below the exhibition space and my temporary studio.

I painted the base layers of this artwork primarily with my feet. After two intense days of "dancing" the colors onto the canvas, I completed the artwork with my signature style Gravity flow of thickly applied colors in a Tai Chi pattern.

The finished painting measures 6.7m x 1.5m and spans from the bottom of the 72nd floor to top of the 73rd floor. It's the main artwork in the exhibition, alongside a selection of my other series, which I created either in oil or in acrylic.

One wall will feature Centrifugal artworks painted on vinyl records and mounted on turntables, which I brought from Switzerland. An installation in constant movement.
